About Us
The Chestnuts is a family run business that has been providing quality care to the elderly since 1983, our aim is to create a secure, relaxed, homely atmosphere where the people who live here can do so with dignity. We take a modern approach to retirement, the emphasis being on individuals and their needs.
The original Victorian house has been extended in a way that has been sympathetic to the original character of the building while providing comfort and all the modern conveniences. Set in the peaceful village of Meopham near Gravesend, Kent, The Chestnuts is very accessible. Bus stops and Meopham British Rail station are close by and major roadways, including the M20, M25 and the A2/M are only a short distance away.
Care Homes are inspected by CQC to assess the quality of the service being provided to the residents. This is the main tool used to raise standards in care services, so that homes at least meet the National Minimum Standards set by the Department of Health.
After each inspection visit, many of which are unannounced, a report is written by the Inspector detailing how well the home complies with the Section 20 Regualtions of the Health & Social Care Act 2008. This is then published on the CQC website.
