The Team

The Chestnuts prides itself on offering the highest standards of care from staff that are carefully selected.  A personal and friendly atmosphere between staff and residents is encouraged at all times.

Staff are chosen not only for their understanding, conscientiousness and reliability but also for their sensitivity to the needs of the elderly.  The personal care offered by our staff involves a considerate response to the physical and emotional needs of our residents whenever required, 24 hours a day.

The Manager - Lesley Plumb
The ManagerLesley grew up in Meopham and joined The Chestnuts in 2006 after 25 years working in care and the NHS. A family member she is now a partner in the home and the Registered Manager.
Lesley has a degree in Specialist Practice (Adult Nursing) and a DipHE in Nursing Studies (Adult Nursing) RGN. She is married with two teenage children.

At the Chestnuts we place a strong emphasis on staff training and encourage staff to develop the skills needed for the job.  All staff attend regular training programmes and are required to achieve their NVQ 2, senior staff must also complete their NVQ 3.  Staff also receive in house training on topics that are relevant to the needs of our clients.

All prospective employees are screened before commencing employment, they are subject to CRB and POVA checks and must provide satisfactory references.

The care staff at The Chestnuts have all the necessary caring experience required to ensure that our residents are happy, comfortable and content.
