Our Staff

Our staff are chosen not just for their friendliness, conscientiousness and reliability but also their sensitivity when dealing with the needs of the elderly. All staff are carefully screened and checked thoroughly to ensure that they fulfil the statutory requirements for working in care.

All our staff complete regular training and are encouraged to develop their skills beyond the essential standards required by both the government and CQC. The majority of our staff have either a Level 2 or 3 in care.

At The Chestnuts, we have staff on duty to provide care 24 hours a day. Our manager is supported by 3 senior carers who in turn work closely with the care staff to ensure that the care provided is given in an holistic personal way.

Visiting Health Professionals

For medical care, The Chestnuts is supported by the GPs from Meopham Medical Centre. The community nurses provide any nursing care required. We are also visited regularly by a chiropodist and optician.

Other Services Available

Our hairdresser visits every Wednesday but you are welcome to invite a hairdresser of your own. We are frequently visited by the local clergy who take communion as well as other members from the church for bible studies.
